Nwachukwu Hails NLC For Halting Strike 

…Urges Imolites To Re-elect Uzodinma

The All Progressive Congress, APC South/East coordinator for persons with disabilities Dr. Stanley Nwachukwu has commended the Joe Ajero led Nigeria Labour Congress,NLC for halting it’s planned nation wide strike.

Dr. Nwachukwu gave this commendation in Enugu yesterday after a meeting with some leaders of the disable community.

Briefing newsmen, at the end of the meeting, Nwachukwu, who is also the chairman of Joint National Associations of Persons With Disabilities, JONAPWD in Imo State and the president of Disable Destiny Track Foundation, DDTF pointed out that the strike action, if embarked upon will further plunge Nigerians into hardship and that his constituency the disable community will be the worst hit.

He opined that persons with disabilities, PWDs, due to their fragile health conditions need regular health care and that the strike which was planned to shut down critical sectors of the country will adversely affect PWDs more than the able bodied.

He thanked the labour union for adhareing to voice of reasoning and called on the Federal government to ensure that the aspirations of the common man in Nigeria which NLC represents is met.

Dr. Nwachukwu also applauded governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State for being the first governor to increase the minimum wage of the state civil servants to 40,000 naira per month.

According to Nwachukwu, Uzodinma has written his name in gold going by the avalanche of his achievements as the State governor and should be re-elected for another term to consolidate on the gains of democracy in Imo State.
