Sons and daughters of Uzoagba in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State on Friday, September 25, 2026, gathered at the Afor Uzoagba Market Square for an interactive session with Hon. Emmanuel Chukwuebuka Ibe, a candidate for the Imo State House of Assembly representing Ikeduru State Constituency under the platform of the Labour Party (LP).
The gathering brought together Uzoagba indigenes who had the opportunity to interact directly with Hon. Ibe, ask questions and discuss issues affecting the community and the wider Ikeduru constituency.
The meeting also provided the candidate with an opportunity to speak about his capacity, experience and vision for effective and people-centred representation, while expressing his commitment to giving the people a responsive voice in the State House of Assembly.
Speaking at the opening of the event, Chief Mike Onyenwe (Omereoha) called on the people of Uzoagba to embrace unity and support the development of their community by maintaining solidarity with one another, irrespective of their political affiliations. He emphasized the importance of having a representative who understands the needs of the people, remains accessible and is always available to listen to their concerns.
Chief Mike Onyenwe further encouraged the people to give serious consideration to supporting their own, noting the importance of having someone from the community who can maintain close contact with the people and understand their challenges.
Similarly, High Chief Ikechukwu Njoku, popularly known as Ikeoha, urged Uzoagba sons and daughters to rally behind their own, regardless of their political differences. He stressed that the community’s unity and collective interest should take precedence over partisan considerations.
High Chief Njoku also highlighted the importance of supporting a representative who is close to the people, accessible and committed to addressing their needs, encouraging the community to remain united in its pursuit of effective representation.
The gathering was characterized by a relaxed and cordial atmosphere, as sons and daughters of Uzoagba enjoyed food and drinks while engaging Hon. Ibe in friendly, one-on-one conversations.
Participants seized the opportunity to ask questions, express their views and discuss matters concerning the development and political future of Uzoagba and Ikeduru.
The interactive session ended on a convivial note, with Hon. Emmanuel Chukwuebuka Ibe expressing his appreciation to the sons and daughters of Uzoagba for honouring his invitation and participating in the engagement.
