Service Over Politics: Hon. Chukwuebuka Ibe Commits to Monthly Allowance for Ikeduru Widows

Over 300 widows across Ikeduru Local Government Area are set to receive monthly financial salary support under a new welfare initiative launched by Hon. Emmanuel Chukwuebuka Ibe.

The Labour Party candidate for Ikeduru State Constituency of Imo state House of Assembly announced the commitment following an emotional meeting with Ikeduru Widows Association, where the women highlighted severe economic hardship and a lack of support from government channels.

Hon. Ibe emphasized that the monthly support is a humanitarian duty rather than a political stunt, assuring the group that disbursements will begin immediately and payments will continue regardless of the outcome of upcoming election.

“Supporting vulnerable members of our community shouldn’t start or end with politics,” Ibe said. “It is a responsibility rooted in compassion and service to our people.”

The announcement was met with prayers and expressions of gratitude from the beneficiaries, who noted that consistent financial relief will go a long way toward mitigating high living costs for their families.

As the political contest approaches, the initiative places renewed emphasis on the importance of people-centred leadership and the need for political actors to pay closer attention to the welfare of vulnerable groups.
