Ozuruigbo Throne: Amawom Monarch Identifies Alleged Direct Sons Of Njemanze

…Advises  public,  beware of impostors

Following claim by some individuals regarding the Ozuruigbo throne, Traditional Ruler of Amawom autonomous community, HRH Eze Peter Ezechikere Njemanze (Ozuruigbo VI) has meticulously identified original direct sons of Njemanze royal family, adding that those not captured in the list should not be laying claim to what is bigger than them.

Eze Njemanze advised the general public, government institutions and corporate bodies to be wary of those parading the “Njemanze” name with a view to duping unsuspecting persons in the society.

According to him, Njemanze Iheanacho who died in 1920 has twenty direct sons, and identified the families as those entitled to feet into the Ozuruigbo royal stool.

Eze Njemanze gave this revelation in an exclusive interview with Journalists in his palace weekend.

He said that in his wisdom to handle all his subjects, Njemanze Iheanacho categorized his subordinates in three parts: “umu-Njemanze”, “Umu Nga Njemanze” and “Ndi Nga Njemanze” respectively.

Ozuruigbo VI maintained that the throne is only available to “Umu Njemanze” and neither for “Umu Nga Njemanze” nor “Ndi Nga Njemanze”

Eze Njemanze therefore listed families of his grand father’s direct sons.

Reacting to a newspaper publication that purportedly claimed that Prince Charles Ezemurum Anumaku Njemanze is from Calabar, Eze Njemanze described such publication as not only laughable, callous, and false, but mischievous and diversionary.

According to him, Prince Charles Ezemurum Anumaku Njemanze is a full-blooded grandson of Njemanze Iheanacho of the second generation, noting that his father, Late HRH Eze Alexus Anumaku Njemanze, “Nakwaecheki” (Ozuruigbo IV) sustained peace in Owerre, while late Pa Sylvester Akuebionwu Njemanze was the last born of Njemanze Iheanacho of the first generation.

The newspaper publication also described Prince Harris Njemanze as a ‘nobody’ when issues concerning the royal family are mentioned, Eze Njemanze expressed bitterness how those still searching for their real identity were out to malign reputations of original sons of Njemanze royal family.

While describing the publication as petty and childish, Eze Njemanze said that for serving as Chairman of Njemanze Eze’s cabinet, Prince Harris Njemanze remains a prominent member of the family who is qualified to make impute in every issue affecting the family.

Contributing, Prince John Njemanze said that going by the Monarch’s revelation, it is no longer in doubt to identify original Njemanze sons and those parading themselves.

He warned anyone in the habit of hiding under Njemanze name to perpetuate crime or cause public unrest to desist, assuring that the Monarch would not leave any stone unturned in dealing with those law breakers.

Prince Njemanze further maintained that Njemanze’s family cannot be regarded as a dynasty owing to the fact that Njemanze Iheanacho was never a king, pointing out that what only qualifies it is simply a “royal family”.
