On account of corruption, injustice selfishness and ingratitude witnessed especially at the National leadership of African Democratic Congress, ADC, Barr. I U K Nlem Esq JP, now former Chairman of ADC, Imo State Chapter, alongside his State Working Committee have tendered their resignation letter.
Barr. Nlem in a press conference held at the office of the State Chairman, ADC, in Owerri on Tuesday, expressed utmost disappointment in the National leadership of the party for visiting his selfless sacrifices to the growth of the party both in the state and national with hate, gossip, backbiting and betrayal.
He lamented that ” the full range of his solidarity in monetary form, time, ideas, the arsenal of good values he unleashed and the warehouse of firmness he unveiled to his party, ADC, from 2016 till date are reciprocated with sheer wickedness from some licentious and poisonous elements in the party including some of those he brought and gave juicy positions in the party”.
Also, in a communique signed by the Media Chief to Barr. Nlem, Chukwuebuka Udeagha (Traveller), it was disclosed that  the now former Chairman of ADC, Barr. Nlem, going by his antecedents of loyalty responsiveness, sportsmanship to the party, was most qualified to be decorated with the November 11, 2023 Imo gubernatorial ticket beneath the party’s umbrella but was denied the opportunity by ADC NEC.
it stated that Barr. Nlem was robbed of his governorship ticket as a result of “tiny gladiators and political vampires surrounding the National Chairman Mr Raphael Nwosu who influenced him to trade honour for peanuts through conspiracy and cheap blackmail, hence he gave the ticket to Dr. James Okoroma, an amateur in the functioning of the party in Imo save his personal relationship with him, the National Chairman”.
Furthermore, the paper reads ” I.U. K. Nlem Esq.’s political aspiration since 2016 has been faced with many obstacles, mostly betrayals from people in ADC National Executive and the State. He has been treated with despicable discomfort, used and abused of no crime committed, yet he maintained silence because he knows that absolute silence births faster judgment upon humanity from God”
Nevertheless ”  Barr. Nlem is still grateful to God for showing him mercy, sustained ADC as a party to greater heights under his robust leadership and watch. And said  that he has forgiven those who wronged him in one way or the other, praying God’s mercy upon them and see them through in their various endeavours”.
Barr. Nlem alongside some ADC custodians and stakeholders would soon declare their interest to join forces with any political party that will better the lots of Imo people and Nigerians at large, as they believe that government belongs to the people and their negotiation for good governance is well received as a basis of considering affiliation with other political entities of similar interest, goals and objectives.
