Following the landslide victory of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma in last Saturday, November 11 governorship off-cycle election in Imo State, the Chairman National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Imo State , Hon. Samuel Udeh,(Ezeumuokorobia) has gathered his men of the wheels across the state to celebrate the re-election victory of the Governor.
Speaking at the victory party, held at the NURTW Office in Owerri on Thursday, Udeh opined that the victory of the governor is indeed victory for the Union members.
He commended the union members for having done marvellously well in supporting him to deliver the governor.
Udeh appreciated God Almighty for granting the state free, fair and peaceful election, even as he stressed that the governor is Godsent to Imo and that he has done visible works in his first tenure, ready to consolidate on them and do more for the general benefit of all.
Addressing the massive members, Chief Jerry Chukwueke (Ohamadike) Director General of Governor Hope 2023 Campaign, warmly thanked the union for giving their total support to the governor that saw his re-election.
He encouraged them not to relent in supporting the 3R government of Governor Uzodinma as he is poised to achieving greater heights in the development of the state in his second term.
Chief Chukwueke disclosed that Governor Uzodinma in his remaining four years administration has made promises to double his achievements in the state, and is very prepared to fulfil his campaign promises.
He stated that the governor wants to create more enabling, conducive environment for the people of the state by establishing a workable power supply, ensure food security, pay proper attention to Private Sector Investment that would enroll small and big term farmers to give them soft loan, thereby increasing the production of agricultural produce.
“We need to come together and support this administration for I am very confident that our governor will deliver his second term campaign promises. And I’m very much available to assist you get all the help you may need from the government for you have made us and the governor proud”,he explained.
Similarly, the Special Adviser,SA, to the State Governor on Transport and Park Management,Chief Kenneth Okafor, who represented the governor, appreciated the Unionists for their full support to the victory of Governor Uzodinma.
He described Hon. Udeh as a nice man with impeccable character exemplified in his great integrity, adding that the Chairman posseses a pure and credible record which his predecessors did not posses nor showed.
“Through him this union has made a good name in the 3R administration, so please continue to support Udeh and his leadership”
“The governor also is a man of the people who is so passionate about the progress and development of his people of Imo. I therefore appeal that you all continue to support his government for greater benefit from it to us all”.
Just as the Special Adviser to the governor on Artisans, Chief Paul Ajunwa (Ishiokpi) said Udeh has done awesome in building up a well polished union in the state and demonstrating great love to his people.
,He added he is joyful that Hon. Udeh through his enviable personality has been able to attract to himself and the Council men of great importance from the government who are willing to speak for and defend their course.
In his speech,Comrade Dominic Anuforo, Treasurer NURTW Ulakwo branch, appreciated all the government dignitaries in their midst including Double Chief Nwaogu, SA on Motor Park, stating; ” the Chairman, Hon. Udeh has convinced us without any doubt that our Union should be a structure of Governor Uzodinma and that conviction was strengthened by the presence of government representatives who graced this our gathering”
“We have not been threatened in any way since Udeh became our Chairman because he has a well established harmony with the government, hence we the principal road users in Imo state decided to vote for the governor.
No other governor has done as much for NURTW like Governor Uzodinma and we’re very happy for his re-election victory”,he concluded.
