IMO 2027:  APP IS UNSTOPPABLE – NJESI 

…As Party writes INEC, Fixes Congresses Mar 24–28
The  newly appointed Imo state Chairman of the Interim Caretaker Committee of the Action People’s Party ,APP, Hon. Ernest Njesi has assured party faithful that he will lead the party to a landslide victory come 2027.
Njesi made the assertion while reacting to his recent appointment as chairman of the Interim Caretaker Committee of the party in the state.
He said, “there is nobody in Imo today that does not know that APP is the party to beat and with the calibre of leaders and stakeholders in our party, you can be  rest assured that an APP candidate is the next occupant of Douglas House.
” We have antecedents, we have a destination and we have to roadmap to our destination. Our leaders are tested in this turf and our structure is resilient. It is just a matter of time and the big Elephant will ascend.”
He noted that the party will diligently continue its registration drive and public education and internal cohesion measures.
The 8-Man Interim Caretaker Committee members were announced by the National Chairman of the party Barr. Uche Nnadi with the following as members:
1. Hon. Njesi Ernest – Former Chairman, as Interim Chairman
2. Engr. Emeka Onwukwe – Former Secretary, as Interim Secretary
3. Engr. Henry Alaribe – Former Deputy Chairman (Owerri), as Interim Deputy Chairman (Owerri)
4. Barr. Ogemdii Ezeonye – Former Deputy Chairman (Orlu), as Interim Deputy Chairman (Orlu)
5. Mr. Ernest Ezirim – Former Deputy Chairman (Okigwe), as Interim Deputy Chairman (Okigwe)
6. Barr. Uche Nwosu – Former Legal Adviser, as Interim Legal Adviser
7. Comrade Cajethan Duke – Former Publicity Secretary, as Interim Publicity Secretary
8. Mr. Peter Etoh – Former Assistant Financial Secretary, as Treasurer
The National Chairman called on all party stakeholders and members in Imo State to rally behind the new leadership and participate actively in the membership registration exercise and the forthcoming congresses.
“These are crucial times for our party in Imo State. We urge every member to work together harmoniously to strengthen our structures and position APP as the party of choice for the people,” Barr. Nnadi added.
The March 24th congresses are expected to produce new executive committees at the ward, local government, zonal, and state levels, setting the stage for the party’s future political engagements in the state.
 Meanwhile, the National Leadership of Action Peoples Party, APP,  has officially  written to the Independent National Electoral Commission ,INEC, notifying the Commission of its preparedness to conduct  congresses  at Ward, Local Government and State levels.
In a letter dated  March 2,  2026, and addressed to the INEC Chairman at the Commission’s Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, the APP National Chairman, Uchenna Nnadi, and National Secretary Abu Ibrahim Bossan, conveyed the party’s notification in line with statutory requirements for a 21 day notice.
The congresses, according to the letter, will hold on March, 24  2026, at ward levels ,  March, 26   at Local Government levels and March, 28  at the State levels
It further stated that the steps reflect its commitment to internal democracy and preparation for credible participation in the 2027 General Elections.
