Ogbaku Suicide: Alleged   Infidelity,”She said she was Going  To Night Crusade Ended Up At Lover’s House”

…Reginald  was forced to sign off his landed property,so he took his  life.

The last may not have been heard of the reasons why one Mr Reginald of Lawa Ogbaku in Mbaitoli LGA took this life a fortnight ago.

Mr Reginald’s decision to commit suicide, according  to locals, was not a sudden one having protractedly suffered much in the hands of his estranged “Juliet” wife, his children and wife’s lover.

Some locals who volunteered information on condition of anonymity said that Reginald had complained severally to anybody who cared to listen about the amorous relationship between his wife and her Casanova but to no avail. All entreaties also fell on deaf ears.

He was said to have even confronted the lover man, whose wife died years back, severally, but the man wouldn’t listen.

The predicament of Reginald became more complicated when it dawned on him that his wife and their seven children (all males) have connived and disposed off all his inherited plots of land. In each case of the land deal, he had always been forced to put hand on paper under duress but wouldn’t be carried along afterwards.

Reginald’s wife(a petty trader)had always brainwashed their seven male children that their father hated them and was  not contributing anything to their well-being and the children grew with it. Though some locals debunked it.

That penultimate Saturday night, around 9pm,  Reginald’s wife had told him she was going for a crusade only to end up in her lover’s house.

Information got to Reginald around midnight and he went to confirm first. A source said, ” he mounted surveillance and was convinced that the wife was really attending a two man “crusade” at the lover’s house.

He then went back to his compound and prepared for his alleged suicide mission.

Very early in the morning when the purported “crusade” had dismissed, Reginald’s wife sneaked out to go,  behold, right in front of her lover’s house hung the lifeless body of her husband.

She was said to have raised alarm which attracted people but surprisingly no sooner than the Crowd had gathered than she disappeared.

Although neighbours who had fled the area are gradually coming back, the said Reginald’s wife is said to have ran to her maiden home in Agwa while her Casanova(said to be a retiree from Imo Govt House) is currently helping the Police in their investigation.
