Owerri North Lawmaker, Offurum Empowers Constituents With PoS Machines ,Financial Backup

Inorder to lessen financial burden and create self reliance opportunities for his Constituents, the Lawmaker representing Owerri North in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon.Kelechi Offurum  has embarked on empowerment programme across the 12 wards of his Constituency.

As he empowered 64 of his constituents with PoS Machines, backing it up with financial assistance.

According to the Lawmaker, the gesture is to empower his people in the little way he can by assisting them to have something doing in order to cope with the present economic realities.

Offurum said that he believes the empowerment will go a long way in bettering lives of the beneficiaries as he advised them to put the items given to them  to good use.

The Owerri North lawmaker assured that the gesture is going to be a continuous process  maintaining that the welfare of his people will continue to be his top most priority.

The coordinator of the event, Lambert C. Iwe said that there is transparency in the selection of the beneficiaries as there is no ward that is not captured.

He also informed that the programme was organized in such a way that the recipients are physically  present to avoid being shortchanged by any one.

Speaking to Journalists, one of the beneficiaries, Favour Chizitere Ohaegbulam from Egbu Ward expressed gratitude to the Lawmaker for extending helping hands to them and promised that she will make better use of the empowerment.

Another beneficiary, Sharon Chimeziri Mbata from Awaka ihita ward who was full of happiness said she feels delighted being among  the beneficiaries.

She added that the empowerment has given her opportunity to add more value to her life and being financially independent.

The highlight of the event was the unveiling of items by the Lawmaker accompanied by the instructors who will teach the beneficiaries on how to operate the Point on Service ,PoS machines.

The programme which took place at the residence of the Lawmaker, was witnessed by some political stakeholders from the LGA including Councilors,Women leaders and others.
