Flashback: Imo NUJ End Of Year Bash With Veterans

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Imo State Council, after an emergency meeting presided over by Comrade Ori Martins on Wednesday, appointed an End of year party Organizing Committee with Bar Vivian Otti as Chairman, while Lady Wins and Austin Agwulonu are members.
According to Ori Martins, who also doubles as Secretary of the NUJ in Imo State, the union will use the opportunity to fraternize with and celebrate the veterans who contributed immensely to the growth of the Journalism profession in the state.
He also stated that the union will, in due course, set up an endowment fund for the veterans in view of the fact that most of them who need money for medication are presently not being paid pensions.
The event according to him will hold at the conference center of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, along Port Harcourt Road, Owerri, on Monday, December, 18.
Ori further stated that, “the essence of the party is to thank God for his goodness and mercy all through the year. The event will also be used to take stock of the union’s activities in the past one year”.
