The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo of Igbo race , Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has described Igbo race as a peaceful and law abiding people who believe so much in hardwork in order to make a living.

Chief Iwuanyawu, while speaking to the journalist in his office in Owerri, decried the level of insecurity  in Igboland, saying that killing and destruction of property are alien to  Igbo culture.

According to him, whatever reasons that push the young people to engaged themselves in such ugly activities  the Igbo are not known for such.

“I am appealing to them to come for a round table discussion.’I am ready to make peace with them, i know what their problems are if they come out from bush.”

Chief Iwuanyanwu further hinted “as a President of Ohanaeze  I am ready to negotiate with those causing sit-at- home, every matter is handled and settled by negotiations. I want peace in Igboland and I am ready to fight the course of Igbo race, despite all  the threat to kill me. And i have not done anything wrong, I am not afraid but even if I die fighting for the Igbo, I will not regret it.”

Chief Iwuanyanwu recalled that during the last war, the Igbo lost a lot and would not wish Igbo people to go for another war,

He remarked that Nnamdi Kanu has disclosed through his lawyer that he has no hand in the killing in the Southeast adding, ” I have met with Mr. President, Ahmed Bola Tinubu to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and all the leaders and National Assembly members in Igboland have agreed for Nnamdi Kanu’s release.

The Ohanaeze NdiIgbo President General frowned at that the rumour making rounds on social media that Governor Hope Uzodinma held meeting with the president not to release Nnamdi Kanu, maintaining that the allegation was cheap and lies form the bit of hail. Iwuanyanwu said any person from Igboland that involved in such allegation must be sanctioned.
