Murder of traditional ruler: Ogunewe consoles family, condemns act

The Imo State candidate of Action Alliance (AA) for the November 11 governorship election, Maj Gen. Lincoln Ogunewe (Retired) has condemned the gruesome murder of the traditional ruler of Nguru Nweke in Aboh Mbaise LGA, HRH Eze James Nnamdi (Mmirioma) who was killed in his palace recently.

Ogunewe, on his way to his country home to celebrate the Iriji Mbaise festival with his kinsmen and party faithful in a solemn manner, had a stopover at the house of the monarch to console the family and asked them to keep faith in God as He alone knows the best.

He asked the wife of Eze Mmirioma to know that God will not forsake them, adding that the virtues of the late traditional ruler who was known for his truthfulness and straightforwardness will continue to be remembered by the people of Mbaise.

‘I decided to visit you to register my displeasure on the death of the first class traditional ruler that Mbaise has known. I am not joining the rest of people to gather and celebrate the Iriji Mbaise festival because we should be mourning and not celebrating’, he submitted.

He reminded the family of Eze Mmirioma that if he becomes the governor of Imo State, the insecurity ravaging the state will be addressed.

The family of Eze Mmirioma lauded the AA candidate and noted that, they were consoled by his visit, adding that God will see him through his governorship aspirations.
