The Orlu Regional Assembly USA, (ORAUSA) a socio-cultural organization of sons and daughters of Orlu zone resident in the United States of America have dissociated itself from claims in some Newspaper publications that it had endorsed some political party candidates contesting for political offices in the 2023 general elections in Orlu zone.
In a Public Notice signed by the organization’s President, Dr Uzo Unegbu and two other executive officers and made available to the press, ORAUSA urged the general public to disregard any such claims of endorsement by politicians as falsehood aimed at deceiving the public.
Dr. Unegbu who spoke to newsmen on telephone from his base reaffirmed the non partisan position of his organization, stressing that their vision and focus for the Orlu Senatorial Zone is advocacy for good governance and voter education through sensitization and mobilization.
He pointed out that ORAUSA is not in the business of endorsing candidates for elections.
He further stated that all the candidates for elections in Orlu Senatorial Zone are sons and daughters of Ala Orlu and that they will as usual extend their traditional hand of fellowship to the winners with the view of partnering with them for the much needed human and infrastructural development of Orlu Zone. ORAUSA noted that it wishes all Candidates in the forthcoming 2023 elections good luck.
The Organization urges voters to come out en-mass to vote for candidates of their choice while appealing for a peaceful, free and fair elections in Imo State in general, and Orlu Senatorial Zone in particular.
