The prelate of Obiekpere Ndigbo and presiding Bishop, Friends of Jesus Global Mission, Owerri, His Lordship, Rt. Rev Dr. Maglorious Enyioha has called on the United States Organization (UNO) to urgently intervene in the prevailing state of insecurity manifesting in the forms of unbridled insurgence, civil disturbances, inter-tribal clashes, religious intolerance and unwarranted killings by security operatives and unknown gun men ravaging all parts of Nigeria and general frustration among the people.
According to Bishop Enyioha, the highly dreaded state of insecurity which has placed the country into a hypertensive mood is capable of resulting to another world war as Nigeria is now an article for scramble by powerful nations of the world.
Lamenting over the ugly situation, the prelate popularly acclaimed as Bishop Ndigbo stated, “it is unfortunate that the United Nations Organization is simply watching Nigeria as everything is going wrong. The state of insecurity across our dear country has reached alarming level while the economy is comatose. Perhaps, the various nations of the world are praying for Nigeria to go down completely before they could sneak in to embark on reconstruction project. One thing is certain, if the UN fails to tackle Nigeria’s problems or address the besetting insecurity, the explosion that would result from the situation would affect those other nations and by extension, lead to such clash of interests capable of occasioning world war. This of course, will be very terrible for humanity”.
Concluding, Bishop Maglorious Enyioha said. “It is only the United Nations that can solve Nigeria’s myriad of problems by doing one thing for Nigerians. That one thing is conducting a referendum for all the ethnic nationalities in Nigeria. People should be allowed the opportunity of deciding what they want and where they want to belong. This is the only solution to all problems in Nigeria”.
