NGO trains youths, women on election, tomorow

A non-governmental organization (NGO) under the aegis of Women of Good Governance has concluded arrangements to educate and re-orientate youths and women of Imo State on proper electoral conduct before the commencement of the 2019 general elections in Nigeria.
The founder of the NGO, Lady (Mrs.) Ada Gladys Echefu who disclosed this to news men in Owerri, Imo State capital said that the event which holds on Thursday, Februaryl4, 2019 would attract mainly women and youths from the rural communities of Imo State.
The event which according to Mrs. Gladys Echefu was aimed at making youths and women realize the dangers of resorting to violence and accepting bribes from politicians before casting their votes would feature peaceful public demonstration by participants against bad governance and corrupt elective office seekers.
The human rights female activist further, revealed that the one-day event taking place in Owerri, the Imo State capital would severely condemn the use of violence, money or other gift items to corrupt voters and thus, influence the voting pattern in a negative manner.
“Time has come for our youths and rural women to know that the future of our dear country lies in our own hand. It is bad for us to accept gift items and vote for the wrong candidates today only to become hungry and frustrated tomorrow as a result of bad governance. We must be morally strong enough to reject selfish politicians and their evil antics for our land to be well”, she stated.
