Parallel Party Structure: APC set to suspend Okorocha, others …Deputy Chair:He’s forming structures to decamp …Uzukwu to Oguoma: Stop impersonating exco

In the wake of the constitution of a parallel structures of the All Progressive Congress,APC in Imo state by the Gov Rochas Okorocha faction of the party, indications yesterday emerged that the party leadership in Abuja may axe the governor.
According to APC inside sources what the governor did by the constitution of the Chris Oguoma parallel state executive, shortly after constitutionally approved and legally conducted congresses where done is tantamount to gross misconduct which the constitution of the party seriously abhors.
Against this backdrop Nigeria Newspoint gathered that the National Working Committee,NWC of the party led by Chief John Odigie Oyegun is already weighing options available to it under the constitution of APC
However, it was gathered that the option which NWC is looking at as the possible antidote that can effectively and decisively tackle the alleged misconduct and affront is the option of suspension to serve as deterrent to the governor and his camp.
According to a source the national leadership believes in the rule of law and under that concept no individual no matter how highly placed including presidents and governors can be above the law.
The implication of this is that if somebody runs foul of the law he or she is bound to face the consequences of their action.
Nigeria Newspoint learnt that the national leadership of the party is no longer ready to tolerate acts and behaviours that are contrary to body and spirit of the party constitution in its bid to instil discipline and respect for the constitution of the party especially as the 2019 electipn draws near.
Also, speaking on the parallel structure, the deputy state chairman of the party Hon Ugochukwu Nzekwe dismissed the Chris Oguoma executive, saying the governor is forming structures preparatory to defecting to another political party.
The two term ex- lawmaker for Nkwerre State Constituency opined that that was the meaning of what the governor was doing because under APC constitution there cant be an acting chairman when there is a duly elected and functioning state chairman, wondering who Oguoma was acting for when congresses were recently concluded by the party.
” Who is he acting for? We have just concluded congresses and we have a substantive chairman. You can only have an acting when the chairman is sick or sacked by the party but when a chairman is functioning and in this case just re elected then those saying they are acting are doing so with a hidden agenda and in this case it is probably to defect to another party” the state deputy chairman said.
On the issue of hammer falling on the governor he said as far as APC is concerned nobody is above the law, adding that the party has the power to suspend or even sack any member who indulges in any act or acts that merit(s)any of the aforementioned penalties.
Meanwhile, the state secretary of the party, Barr Patrick Uzukwu has warned the faction of Gov Okorocha against impersonating the state executive of the party.
The party scribe whose position was made public in a statement issued in owerri made it clear that APC has a properly constituted executive in the state adding that the executive has relocated from the burnt office of the party at Imo State University IMSU junction.
He warned those he referred to as bad losers to shape in or ship out of the party saying anybody who cant abide by the democratic principle that those who lose today will live to fight another day is not a good democrat and therefore should be ignored even as stated the exco has resolved never to be distracted as it prepares to commence preparation for 2019 elections.
