Imo Guber: Ex-electricity boss, Amadi flaunts integrity as his unique selling point “Imo, barren with no economic development” …Says: Corruption, biggest threat to good governance

A governorship aspirant, Dr Sam Amadi has described himself as the cleanest and best material to take over the governance of Imo State, come 2019.
Dr Amadi who recently left the National Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC as Chairman of the commission also made it abundantly clear that the biggest threat to good governance is corruption among those in power. He also pointed out that only people with integrity like him have what is needed to salvage the Imo situation.
Dr Amadi made who made this declaration, weekend while addressing the leadership of Orluzurumee Peoples Assembly, OPA led by Engr Chime Nzeribe further challenged Imolites to take time to critically examine those jostling for the gubernatorial post to be able to choose the best among the lot.
The ex-NERC boss while flaunting his integrity quotient as the highest among those aspiring to govern the state drew the attention of Orluzurumee to his impeccable and spotless record at NERC where he said he never for one day circumvented rules and regulations and rule of law.
He said several enquiries have been launched on his tenure since he left office, noting that all the efforts to find any shortcoming from him have proved abortive.
The administrative czar said he will bring the same strategies and procedures he used to elevate NERC and enthrone a culture of integrity, transparency, accountability and due process in NERC to bear on the governance of the state, if elected in 2019.
He made abundantly clear that the biggest threat against good governance which would bring about delivery of dividends of democracy to the masses is leadership corruption which he said has dealt a deadly blow to democracy.
According to him governance is supposed to be focused on delivering welfare and security and prosperity to the electorate but regretted that perverse corruption in high places has aborted the good intention of the system.
Dr Amadi who is gunning for the seat on the platform of APGA assured the people of Orlu Zone that his government would treat the three zones of the state as equal partners in the Imo project so as to restore feeling of brotherhood and harmony to the State.
He pointed out that he is fully prepared for the onerous task of liberating the state from misgovernance and corruption adding that his government would fulfill all promises it has made to the State.
Reacting, the BOT chairman of Orluzurumee, Prof Francis Dike hailed Dr Amadi’s capabilities and track record describing him as one who knows his Onions.
Also speaking, ex-deputy Governor of the State, Dr Douglas Acholonu urged him to be courageous and bold, and strive to get his Party’s nomination.
Pince Bob-Kay Njemanze, who was in the entourage of Dr Amadi urged Orlu people to join forces with Owerri Zone to wrest power from the incumbent governor to stop his obnoxious idea of succeeding himself, come 2019.
The Prince of the Njemanze dynasty made it clear that Amadi’s resume is superb, even as he lamented that Imo state has been quite unlucky by getting governors who emerge by default.
According to him Amadi can deliver and would not disappoint Imolites and so should be supported by all the Zones, to win if he gets the party ticket.
