A member of the Judicial Service Commission, Amb. Jude Agbugba has reiterated the avowed commitment of the Members of the Commission to turn the Commission around for better Service delivery.
Amb. Agbugha, who stated this during a meeting with the Heads of Departments/ Management of the Commission in his office, gave the assurances of making the Commission more functional.
Chief Agbugba appealed to the Staff of the commission to show greater commitment and dedication to their duties for enhanced productivity, and challenged the Management to be proactive in the discharge of their duties as well as to devise means and strategies of moving the Commission to greater beights.
He highlighted some steps taken so far in giving the Commission a face lift to include, renovation and painting of the office blocks, restoration of light and water in the Commission as well as intensive environmental sanitation amongst others.
He therefore, appealed to staff members to reciprocate the good gesture by being more alive to their responsibilities The Commissioner observed with dismay that respect for constituted authority, which vas the norm in the Civil Service was no longer fully practiced. He therefore, challenged staff members to imbibe the right attitude, warning that anyone found wanting would face the consequences.
Chief Agbugha also declared that the office would no longer tolerate nonchalant attitude to work by some Staff, and called on the culprits “to turn a new leaf, observing that only through dedication and discipline that the success of any establishment could be guaranteed.
Amb. Agbugba appealed to the staff to eschew laxity. absenteeism, lateness to work and other vices capable of causing disunity among Staff and charged all to work in synergy and as a Team.
The Member, who. congratulated the newly appointed Ag. Secretary of the Commission, Mr. Christian C. Nzekwe, appreciated him for his managerial acumen. He urged the HOD’s Management to accord him all the necessary support to succeed.
He used the occasion to commend the leadership of the state Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), for listening to the voice of reason in suspending their three- months strike action, observing that dialogue is always the best option.
Chief Agbugba enjoined workers to align with the tenets of Owelle Rochas Okorocha’s administration, pointing out that the Governor meant well for the state. He gave the assurance that all the grey areas raised by the staff would be addressed.
Adding his voice, the Ag Secretary of the Commission, Mr Christian C. Nzekwe. commended the Commissioner for his commitment and dedication towards the affairs of the Commission, and pointed out that his advice and suggestions contributed immensely the achievements recorded so far He expressed appreciation and delight on his appointment and gave the assurance that he would continue to work in synergy with the Hon. Chief Judge of the State Chairman and Members of the Commission and promised to discharge his duties ereditably
In her remarks, the HOD. Administration, Mrs. Agnes Ajoko, commended the Commissioner for convening the meeting, which she said was timely and also gave room to the Management to express their concern.
She enjoined all to work toward a peaceful co-existence.
