The Onuimo local government chairman, Hon Emeka Obi has hailed Governor Hope Uzodinma for organizing what has gone down in history as the best economic summit ever organized by a governor from the state.
Obi, who was viscibly elated after the successful summit, said without mincing words, that the summit meant so much for his people in particular and Imo people in general, because for many years an economic summit had not been held in the state.
According to him “this one organized by Governor Uzodinma was unbeatable. Our governor who is dynamic, foresighted, irrepressible, and always setting the pace, decided to come up with an unbeatable Economic Summit”.
He said that the summit was a way of galvavanizing and stimulating economic activities, growth, development and attracting direct foreign investments. “And to let the world know that Imo is a place for investments and that they can bring whatever they have to help in the development, especially as there are good road networks, expected steady power supply from the gas plant that would soon take off, and insecurity under control.”
The summit was indeed an assemblage of who is who in the world economy. Personalities like former UN Secretary General, Ban-Ki-Moon, former UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, former presidents and serving presidents from Africa, governors and ministers, and captains of industry were present at the summit.
