The visit by Rev. Fr. Bounvature Echeta the founder of Citizen Heaven Charity Foundation, alongside reverend Fr. Uche Ukaonu revealed Fr. Andrew Mbamara and other church faithfuls brought excitement and encouragement to the inmates at the Owerri Correctional Service.
In his words of encouragement Rev. father Echeta reminded the inmates that they are not alone and that God is with them.
Barr. Mrs.Adaora Ekemma the Wife of the former LGA Chairman of Owerri West, encouraged the inmates to hold onto faith and hope for their liberation and restoration of freedom.
The visit included spiritual support, worship and prayer, providing spiritual comfort to the inmates in the Correctional Chapel.
This visit brought a sense of hope and comfort to the inmates, reminding them of the importance of faith and resilience during challenging times.
Rev. Fr. Echeta’s message to the inmates emphasized on hope and resilience, he told them that being in a correctional facility does not mean their hopes are lost, but rather an opportunity to become stronger and better individuals.
Building a relationship with God; he encouraged them to turn to God, who can make the impossible possible, and find strength in their faith. Which will brought comfort and inspiration to the inmates, encouraging them to hold onto hope and work towards personal growth and redemption.
The Founder of Citizen of Heaven Charity Foundation, Rev. Fr. Echeta, shared that his initiative was established two years ago with the goal of; extending a helping hand, providing support to those in need, making a difference and positively impacting the lives of individuals.
His charity work focuses on bringing hope, assistance, and transformation to those who require it most.
A powerful reminder that human beings should “appreciate what you have, value freedom and other blessings while you still have them. Freedom is precious, there is nothing quite like being free, and it’s worth thanking God for”.
His message resonates deeply, especially for those who have experienced loss of freedom, like the inmates at the correctional facility.
Rev. Fr. Echeta’s who recalled that he worked in hospital at his younger age, disclossed that the Foundation covered treatment costs for 68 families on this day July 4, 2025, from different hospitals including; Holy Rosary hospital Emekugbu, St. Diaman hospital Opkoro and Specialist hospital Umuguma.
The actions demonstrate his commitment to helping those in need.
He noted that this act of kindness showcases the Foundation’s mission to provide assistance and relief to those struggling, including vulnerable populations like inmates.
“Because actions matter, God is interested in what you do, not just what you preaches, giving is a gift, the act of giving is a valuable aspect of life. Hence We are accountable for how we use our talents, time, and resources” Rev. Father Echeta harped on.
His charity work is a testament to his commitment to living out his faith through tangible actions.
Rev. Fr. Echeta expressed gratitude to God, for providing the resources to carry out the charity work. He as well appreciated to Rev. Fr. Uche Ukaonu Rev. Fr. Andrew Mbamara, and other church faithfuls for their accompaniment.
The inmates responded with gratitude thanking Rev. Fr. Echeta and his group for their kindness and offering prayers for them. This exchange highlights the spirit of appreciation and gratitude that defined the visit.
The visit’s highlight was the generous sharing of food, providing sustenance to the inmates, drinks, offering refreshments and other items also donating additional essential goods.
This act of kindness brought joy and relief to the inmates, demonstrating the Foundation’s commitment to their well-being.
