…COMMIT TO FULL SUPPORT TO PARTY, CANDIDATES

The political landscape of Ngor Okpala witnessed a momentous shift, Tuesday, May 26, 2026, as prominent business and political heavyweights of the council, stormed Umuneke, to support Hon Prince Obinna Egu and his party the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The incumbent member representing Ngor Okpala State Constituency was last week elected by members of the party in Ngor Okpala in the primary election, as the standard bearer of the party for the Ngor Okpala State Constituency Seat in the upcoming 2027 general elections. In a gesture of appreciation and gratitude for that massive support, the lawmaker yesterday, Tuesday, May 26, convened an all embracing meeting of the party to appreciate their support.

In the long list of business, and political heavyweights that graced the occasion from far and wide were: Okenze Ken Agbiriogu, Dr TOE Ekechi, High Chief Kingsley Dikibo, Chief Kingsley Nwankwo, Hon Chukwuma Anuforo, DG Nkwa Chi Kwere Movement, Hon Mrs Chika Ibekwe, Chief Justus Ogu, State APC Assistant Chairman/ Owerri Zonal Chairman, amongst many other leaders.

In his remarks, Okenze Agbiriogu described Hon Obinna Egu as his son, promising to be there for him at all times.

He described him as a performing legislator stressing that his leadership footprints are visible and measurable in all the wards of the council. He emphasized that he has demonstrated capacity and therefore, deserves another opportunity to consolidate on his achievements. He applauded Gov Hope Uzodimma, leaders, stakeholders and members of the APC, for supporting his emergence as the candidate of the party, pledging his full support for his reelection and that of President Tinubu, as well as election of other candidates.

He urged him to remain loyal and supportive of both the governor and the party leadership, stressing that doing that remains the key to consolidating on his success, and breaking new grounds in the delivery of Constituency intervention projects when reelected.

Okenze Agbiriogu equally commended the Executive Chairman of Ngor Okpala Local Government Area, Hon Chika Ibekwe for her inclusive, and people oriented leadership.

He particularly lauded her virtues of humility, respect, open door administration, and commitment to the growth and progress of the council and its people, urging her not to relent.

In his own speech, Hon Chukwuma Anuforo, Director General of Nkwa Chi Kwere Movement, extolled Hon Egu’s performance so far, stressing that it played pivotal role in primary election victory.

He thanked Gov Uzodimma for his enduring legacy of love for the council as shown once by the nomination of Hon Egu, calling on all Ngor Okpala people to continue remain loyal and supportive of him not minding their political affliations. He also vowed total support for him, Gov Uzodimma, President Tinubu, other candidates of the party, and the executive structures.

He also lauded the structures of the party for electing Hon Egu and expressed strong confidence that he has all it takes justify the huge confidence they reposed in him.

He further highlighted that tendency among some section of the leadership and stakeholders of the party in the area to continually indulge in divisive, self serving and stomach infrastructure politics, warning that if that type of retrogressive politics is not discontinued the council would continue to languish in the backwaters of irrelevance, underdevelopment, neglect and perpetual regret.
