Mbaitoli  Council Boss  Kick Starts Skill Acquisition Program

…Vows to empower over 500 teeming youths

In line with youth empowerment policy of Imo state governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, the Executive Chairman of Mbaitoli Local Government Council, Hon. Ifunnanya Nwanegbo has kicked started the skill acquisition program for the teeming youths of the area.

The flag off ceremony which was witnessed by teeming youths, leaders, stakeholders and members of Mbaitoli legislative council from the 14 Electoral wards of the area was conducted by state Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Dr. Mrs Chinyere Ekomaru at the council hall.

Flagging off the program Dr. Mrs Ekomaru commended the council chairman, Ifunnanya Nwanegbo for the people oriented program which she said would get the youths trained in different skills enjoined the beneficiaries to be committed with the program  assuring that they would be empowered at the end.

In his speech, Council Chairman of Mbaitoli Local Government Area, Ifunnanya Nwanegbo  described the skill acquisition program as one of numerous  projects marking his 100 days in office adding that aside the earlier 150 youths  already trained another 340 youths drawn from the 34 autonomous communities of the area would be trained and empowered.

In his words,’ What is happening today is part of our projects. I came here to tell Mbaitoli pple so far we have gone. In 100 days we  de proof and reproof ICT centre, graded all rural roads, sunk solar powered borehole  in  Afara , Awo , and Ezinihitte Achi Mberi.

‘Following the footsteps of our amiable governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma who is known with massive youth empowerment, we decided to flag off this skill acquisition program to train the teeming youths of Mbaitoli and afterwards empower them to be self reliant.

‘Today as a batch of 150 youths are graduating another batch of 340 drawn from the 34 autonomous communities that make up Mbaitoli are to be trained also.

The Mbaitoli Council chairman congratulated the graduands for successfully completed the training and admonished the new intakes to be committed and dedicated with the training promising to ensure all that went through the training would be empowered.

Speaking the member representing Mbaitoli at state Assembly, Innocent Ikpamezie lauded the massive projects carried out by the council chairman within a short while said the kick start of skill acquisition program was an added feather to the chairman and advised the beneficiaries to make good of the opportunity.

Earlier,  her address, the Permanent Secretary  who represented  the commissioner for Ministry of  Labour, Employment  and Productivity, Mrs Ibeka Ifeoma commended the council chairman for initiating the skill acquisition program and challenged other council chairmen to emulate the gesture.

In a similar development, the newly elected executive members of Obilubi Obazu Mberi Autonomous community led by the President Desmond Ahamefule has commended executive chairman of Mbaitoli Local Government Council, Ifunnanya Nwanegbo for his determination in delivering dividends of democracy to the people of the area.

The executive members of Obilubi Obazu autonomous community  who made the commendation at the council headquarters as they came to show solidarity to the council chairman appealed the council chairman to remember community in his developmental projects.
