The second batch of training in Solar Installation and Maintenance, organized by Distinguished Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi, for residents and indigenes of Imo East Senatorial District, is currently ongoing in Owerri, the Imo State Capital.
Training and empowering youths with skills and tools to start off enterprise, in the Solar installation and maintenance,is part of the holistic vision of the lawmaker, who has carved a niche for himself in human capital development, especially in skills empowerment,as shown by his popular alias of “Mr Empowerment,” to position Owerri Zone as a key player in the renewable energy value chain.
The beneficiaries of this ongoing exercise who number over two hundred,were selected from the one hundred and four wards in the zone. They would be trained by carefully selected experts from outside and within the state, on the various skills in vogue in the field of Solar Installation and Maintenance.
Before this current training, Distinguished Senator Onyewuchi had earlier in March of this year organized similar exercise, which also saw to the training of the first batch of two hundred people. Investigations recently conducted by some independent renewable energy sector analysts revealed that some of the graduates of the first batch training,are already creating and adding value to the sector in the state.
At the conclusion of the training exercise, the lawmaker as is traditional with him, will give further boost to this effort which has been hailed locally and nationally, with the sharing of starter kits for the trainees, to enable them have a headstart in their entrepreneurial journey in this renewable energy sub sector.
