Do Our Road, Bridge Before The Rains, Umụọma Nekede Monarch Begs Uzodinma

The People of Umuoma Nekede community in Owerri West LGA of Imo State have strongly lamented  deplorable condition of their road and the  Mmiri Nkwoahia Bridge at the  Nkwo Ononuyo market.

They maintained that the condition of their road and bridge have deprived them of so many things, putting their lives and residents in danger.

Speaking to Journalists about the issue, the Traditional Ruler of Umuoma Nekede Autonomous community, HRH, Eze Morrison Soronnadi Eke (PhD) said that his people can no longer interact, access, and do other common things with their neighbouring communities because of the bad condition of their road and the  bridge.

Eze Eke further disclosed that the poor state of the road and bridge were seriously affecting the progress of their market, adding that in the past, the entire  Nekede community was made popular by their market,Nkwo Ononuyo.

The Monarch also  said that the market used to be a big market which normally attracted  traders from all parts of Imo State.

The monarch  lamented  that  today, the market hardly operates because of bad road and bridge.

The Omadike 1 of Umuoma Nekede also hinted that the road and bridge have seriously brought  negative effects to their community, adding that economically, they have been seriously affected because his people hardly experience buying and selling in their market again.

“Famers can not sell their products easily and traders from other parts of Imo State can not access Umuoma Nekede market; I promised to build lockup shops in that market but could not because of the bad road and bridge.

The erosion ,he moaned was extremely heavy, causing the collapse of the link bridge” Eze Morrison Soronnadi Eke said.

The first class traditional ruler urged the state government to quickly intervene  on  their road and bridge, noting that they have really suffered and they have really tried with the Direct Labour they had been doing for so long, now.

Speaking also, the President General of Umuoma Nekede Autonomous community, Chief Okechukwu Opara sincerely thanked and appreciated some Umuoma people who have tremendously contributed to the projects, adding that they have really showed undiluted love to their community.

The  PG went on urged the state government, their House of Assembly Member, Federal Lawmaker, Senator and other meaningful sons and daughters of Umuoma Nekede to immensely assist them on the projects.

It was reliably gathered that the Eze  and President General have been working tirelessly to make sure that their community is highly developed, that was why Eze Omadike dressed in an unusual way like an Engr. to the projects site.
