Imo PDP Guber Candidate, Anyanwu Gathers Supports, As Olu Owerre Vows To Realize Project

Ahead of November 11, Governorship election in Imo state, the candidate of People’s Democratic Party, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has continued to gather supports across Socio-Cultural and political groups in the state and beyond.

Giving its support to his Governorship bid, a renowned Socio-cultural organization, “Olu Owerre” has expressed its readiness to work towards the actualization of a Governor of Owerri zone extraction in the forthcoming poll.

Disclosing this weekend while on courtesy visit to Senator Anyanwu, the leader of the group, Chief Martin Opara regretted that all efforts of the group to enthrone a Governor in the 2019 election was fraudulently twarted, and promised to mobilize their members across the state to realize the project.

He expressed surprise that out of the 24 years democracy returned to the state in 1999, only Orlu zone has governed the state for 20 years, Okigwe zone 4 years, thereby leaving Owerri zone with nothing.

Chief Opara vowed to liaise with other credible groups in the state to ensure they buy into their message, adding that by so doing, every zone will not feel cheated or sidelined.

While calling on the people of the state to support the agitation of Owerri zone to occupy the number one seat, also promised to galvanize its members to be in one page.

Addressing the group, the PDP Guber Candidate commended them for reaching out to individuals and groups ahead of the November election, and promised not to disappoint them.

Anyanwu said that in the cause of his Governorship bid, he would never encourage violence, thuggery and hijack of ballot boxes, and challenge his opponents on issue based campaign.

He said, “my ambition to be the Governor of the state will not encourage any bloodshed, insecurity and thuggery. My only vision is to bring peace, create viable business environment and ensure that Imo is Safe again. While my opponents believe in chariots, money, police, or INEC, etc, I only believe in God who gives power; knowing that one with God is majority”

While calling on them to be calm and law abiding, Anyanwu vowed to defeat the incumbent Governor, who according to him, has failed woefully in the discharge of his duties.
