IPOB: Ikenga Imo Tells FG, Release Kanu On Health Ground

…Says: His continuous detention, security risk.

Following the continued incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the leader of Indeginous People Of Biafra, IPOB in the Department of Security Service,DSS  the candidate for Ideato Federal Constituency, Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu (Aka Ikenga Imo) has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria for unconditional release of the IPOB leader as a result of his reported ill health   for the peace of the nation.

The Ideato Federal House Candidate made the call at his country home  in Akokwa,Ideato North LGA,Imo State, while addressing Journalists on the health condition of the detained IPOB leader.

He stressed that there is no reason for  the Federal Government to continue to illegally detain Mazi  Kanu despite many Court orders for his unconditional release.

He informed that apart from the Court orders,that the health condition of the IPOB leader is fast deteriorating and that it  is very risky and dangerous to continue to detain him.

“Courts of competent Jurisdictions have ordered for his unconditional release.The United Nations had given the  Federal Government Six Months for his unconditional release which expired this January 2023.So, I’m pleading with the Federal Government to release Nnamdi Kanu for the sake of National unity”,he insisted.

Ikeagwuonu maintained  that the release of Nnamdi Kanu will douse tension in the South East and usher room for round table discussion on the agitations of the group and other national issues.

He regretted that the continued detention of IPOB leader has worsened security situation in the South East, pointing out that it means his continued incarceration is not the best way to address many issues confronting South East zone.

Concerning 2023 Elections, the Ideato Federal House hopeful maintained that his camp has fully campaigned and will continue to Campaign till the final whistle.

He said that his campaign team has done much in educating the electorate on the importance of voting and protecting their votes without fear or any intimidation maintaining that his party has full confidence on INEC to conduct   free and fair election.

On the attack on the CBN Governor Godwin Emefele over the new cash policy withdrawal, Ikeagwuonu stated that those opposed to the new policy are the enemies of Nigeria who want the old order to remain.
