Darling Palm Hotels Debuts In Obibiezena

Darling Palms Hotel, a sister organization to Darling FM radio which is owned by the former Senator representing Imo East( Owerri zone), Senator Darlington Eze Ajoku, has been  commissioned for business.

The commissioning ceremony which took place on Tuesday, December 27, at Umuogida in  Obibi Ezena of Owerri north LGA attracted many dignitaries from within and outside the state.

Performing the opening ceremony on behalf of the state Commissioner for Tourism, Bishop Stafford Nwaorgu of Praise Center Ministries expressed his delight at the project, especially this season.

He described Senator Darlington Eze Ajoku as a man of many feathers, a businessman, philanthropist, investor and christian leader.

Bishop Nwaorgu observed that Senator Ajoku has been a giver, urging people to emulate that giving spirit.

In his address, the Chief Executive Officer of Darling Palm Hotels, Senator Darlington Eze Ajoku informed that the property hosting the hotel was bought 30 years ago but now developed as a result of the need to have a place that could cater for some of the accommodation needs of the people of Obibi Ezena like those for medical outreach.

Ajoku also said the hotel would afford the people of Obibi Ezena and other visitors a descent place to stay closer to their people instead of being far in Owerri.

According to him, he has something similar in Abuja and planning same in  Lagos as well.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Tourism, Mr Jerry Egemba commended Senator Ajoku for coming home to invest whereas others would prefer the cities, adding that the investment would help ease unemployment in Obibi Ezena and attract further development into the community.

Egemba also stated that his presence at the event had helped put the hotel on the tourism map of the state.

The Commissioner used the occasion to inform the audience of Governor Uzodinma’s commitment towards returning Imo state as the tourism hub of the country.

The Darling Palm Hotels is a two- winged, 12 room edifice, fully air-conditioned and powered by inverter and generator.
