The immediate past President of Good Friends Sports Club Owerri, Chief ESV. Basil Ogwunga, has charged the new executive members of the club to work efficiently in order to improve the success of the club.
Ogwunga gave the charge in his handover speech during the official swearing- in ceremony of the new executive, held at the Club Arena, Shell Camp, Owerri, last Friday.
Stating that his leadership gained many successes for the club, the past President called on the executive to work in line with the dictates of the constitution of the club, as well as all existing laws governing the club, wishing them well.
Swearing- in the exco, Barr. Godwin Iyke Umah, advised them to work in unity, “be free from all parochial interests that may hinder the progress of the club”.
An ardent member of the club from Nkwerre, Barr. Henry Ejiogu Ohagwa, urged the new executive to perform better than their predecessors as the club really counts on them hence electing them, saying they should focus more on relocating the club to its new site.
Promising to lead in cooperation with other executive, the new President, Chief Evans Eziohuru, promised to strength security, increase and retain membership and ensure to possess their new site among others.
Other members of the exco, Chief Martin Obi (Treasurer), Chief Deacon Stanley Akaniro (Vice President), Hon. Moses Uvie-Odeghe (Secretary), High Chief Oscar Angus Okorie (Social Secretary), Chief Sir SURV BC Onukwugha (Provost) and Mr. Clement Amajoyi (Club Manager), vowed that they would work together to build the club to advance success and charity to the needy in the society.
