Plot To Undermine Ikenga Hits Rocks, Stakeholders Expose Fake Panel Report

Barr. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere

The desperate attempts to truncate the aspiration of Barr. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere to the Ideato North-Ideato South Federa Constituency seat may have hit the rocks following shocking revelations that documents and Panel Reports upon which the purported disqualification was based have been confirmed as forged, doctored and fabricated.

Not a few stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have warned that those who have beat their chests and vowed to ‘deal with Ikenga’ for whatever differences they have with party leaders, may be inadvertently leading the party down the road of infamy and self-destruction.

Chief Joel Anumudu, a chieftain of the party in Umuowa, Orlu, in his reaction to the development warned that, “There are better ways of getting even and satiating the ego, than engaging in this voyage of collective loss’ for the party in Imo state and all its stakeholders”.

Explaining the failed plot against Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, Hon. Ernest Njesi, a former Deputy Chairman of PDP and Former Local Government Chairman of Ideato North LGA said that the two original reports of the PDP National Assembly Screening Committee and National Assembly Appeal Panel for Imo State that cleared Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere for the House Of Representatives Election for Ideato North and South Federal Constituency were available and even in public space, before another report was doctored and falsified by some desperadoes and given to media houses to publish, in the hope of antagonizing Ikenga.

He said: “For the avoidance of doubt, the Appeal Panel did not disqualify Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere because there was no petition against him and the Screening Panel had since cleared him and issued him a certificate of clearance.

“The authentic report of the Panel did not mention or include Ugochinyere for whatsoever reason. What is in circulation is a doctored and forged report that an alleged National Officer threatened the Panel to manufacture after they had submitted their report issued after the conclusion of their assignment in Owerri and a copy given to the Imo State PDP.

“So the Screening Panel cleared Ikenga and he could not have appealed to an Appeal Panel when he has been cleared. This is the height of forgery and intra party rascality that must be dealt with by the NEC of our great party to remedy the image of the party and ensure that all those involved in this defacing forgery and fabrication are arrested and disciplined. The PDP is a national party for goodness sake and not one provincial, one-man party.”
