10 Fedpoly students get scholarship from Imo community in USA

The Imo community of Tampa Bay USA have awarded scholarship to ten students of the polytechnic Nekede Owerri.
Speaking on the occasion at the office of the Rector Federal Polytechnic Nekede on Tuesday. The vice chairman of the association Mr. Emeka Eziakonwa who represented the chairman Dr. Duke Maduagwu thanked the rector for giving them such opportunity adding that he wants to make it an annual event. He said that they started from Federal Polytechnic Nekede because it is a premier school. He informed that he belonged to a group of Imo indigenes from Honda of which education is their primary event.
He used the opportunity to advise students who are beneficiaries of the scholarship award to do well in their academics and to make judicious use of the opportunity given to them.
He then handed over a check of N1 million naira to the rector of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede.
In response, the rector of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Engr. Dr. Michael Arimanwa showed appreciation to them and beckoned on them to increase the number from 10 to 50. He said there is need for communication equipments in the school.
In a vote of thanks one of the students precious Anokwu thanked everybody for making it possible for them to have scholarship and promised to keep up to the standard.
