I’m not interested in Owerri Senate seat, says Capt. Ihenacho

An elder statesman and political stakeholder in Imo State, Capt. Emmanuel Ihenacho, has dismissed the media report which suggested that he would in 2023 contest the next Owerri senatorial seat against the incumbent, Sen. Ezenwa Onyewuchi.
The Emekuku born business mogul disclosed this in a press statement entitled “Capt. Ihenacho And Owerri Senate: The Lies and Misconception” signed and made available to the media by his media consultant, Ebere Uzoukwa.
He described the publication a mere “assumption and machination of the writer and his sponsors who apparently are poised to infuse confusion, create animosity, instigate tension and possibly create unnecessary political upheaval in Owerri zone”.
The statement reads: “The attention of Capt. Emmanuel Ihenacho has been drawn to a front page article of the Tuesday, October 29, 2019 edition of Imo Trumpeta with a sensational caption; Next Owerri Senate Seat: Leo Stan, Capt. Ihenacho, Dikeocha, Onyeagocha Wam Up For “Big” Fight.
Without joining issues with the anonymous writer as the said wite-up was neither proftftessionally packaged nor ethically credited with a byline, it is however considered necessary to dismiss such an imaginary tale by those those behind it who apparently are seeking to cause disunity in Owerri by authoring and sponsoring such baseless and misleading publication.
“It is laughable for someone to ventilate authoritatively that Capt. Emmanuel Ihenacho is warming up to contest the next senatorial election bidding to represent Owerri Senatorial Zone a few months after the just concluded general election.
Without mincing words, the publication depicts the assumption and machination of the writer and his sponsors who apparently are poised to infuse confusion, create animosity, instigate tension and possibly create unnecessary political upheaval in Owerri zone.
“Let me clarify that upon speaking with Capt. Ihenacho in respect to the said write-up that the Emekuku born business magnate cum politician is not in anyway or manner, mulling the intention of contesting the 2023 Senatorial seat of Owerri Zone as falsified in the publication. As he focusing his attention to his businesses, Capt. Ihenacho as a patriot and illustrious son of Owerri zone has elated to accord necessary and deserving support to the government of Chief Emeka Ihedioha given the enormous task of rebuilding Imo State from the wanton destruction perpetrated by the past administration. He has also promised to extend similar support to his younger brother, Sen. Francis Ezenwa Onyewuchi to ensure that he delivers in giving effective representation to the good people of Owerri zone in the National Assembly.
“As a patriot and stakeholder in Owerri zone and Imo State, Capt. Ihenacho is fervently committed to teamwork and collaborative efforts that will drive uncommon transformation, job creation for the teeming unemployed youths, accelerated infrastructural development anchored on purposeful leadership and good governance. He believes strongly that an individual with such progressive disposition can contribute meaningfully towards achieving these lofty ideals without necessarily occupying a public office.
It is on the strength of the above clarification that we urge the general public and those concerned to discontinue and completely disregard the said publication involving Capt. Emmanuel Ihenacho on the ground that it merely depicts falsehood and the imagination of writer and those behind it”.
