2019 Armed Forces day: Ihim extols fallen heroes

Imo State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon (Dr) Acho Ihim has eulogised the nation’s fallen heroes for sacrificing their lives in the defence of the country and her territorial integrity.
In a chat with pen-pushers shortly after laying the wreath at the expansive Imo State Heroes Square, the States Chief lawmaker affirmed that the death of the soldiers rather than demoralise personnel of the Nigerian Army has continually spurred them to expose and combat all agents of destabilisation and extremism in the country.
Ihim who doubles as the Deputy Governorship candidate of the Action Alliance, AA political party and the immediate-past President, Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, CPA African region hailed the gallantry and sacrificial disposition of the departed soldiers while describing them as true Nigerian patriots.
The loss of these courageous patriots must spur the rest of us not only to rededicate ourselves to the service of our nation but fight to ensure that our departed heroes did not die in vain, he stressed.
Sympathising with families of the deceased officers, he prayed that time will ease the soaring pain of today and implored them to note that the entire nation shares their grief.
The Imo D-GOV hopeful noted delightedly the recent donation of Brand New vehicles to the 27 police divisions in the State by Imo State Governor, Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha, adding that his prioritizing security and welfare of officers has culminated into Imo being rated as the most peaceful and fastest growing economy in the country.
He nodded affirmatively for President Mohammadu Buhari and Governor Okorocha in the forthcoming elections and assured on improved security under the Ugwumba-Ihim ticket and appealed to Imo electorates to vote overwhelmingly for the Action Alliance AA for a guaranteed tomorrow.
