Owerri Senate: International lawyer, Ihebuzor lists his priorities

The scramble for who would sit on Owerri Zone Senate Seat in 2019 has taken another dimension as an acclaimed international lawyer; Barr Pascal Ihebuzor has listed areas that would form his agenda and focus if elected into the senate in 2019.
Barr Ihebuzor who is a barrister, solicitor and Notary public of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and also Solicitor and Commissioner For Oaths, Supreme Court of England and Wales who has made his intention known to his party members across board, while speaking with journalists recently at the PDP zonal office, Okigwe Road Owerri, decried the alarming rate of youth unemployment in Owerri Zone stressing that he will focus his attention on creating and securing employment for youths,  carrying out real value driven empowerment of women and youths as well as caring for the elderly and aged in the society.
The vastly experienced lawyer with huge know how  on legislation and bill drafting added that he opted to throw his hat into the ring to seek the mandate of Owerri Zone next year to enable him take
representation to another level.
According to the legislative duty of law making and oversight fumctions are becoming increasingly challenging and cumbersome that every senatorial zone now need to send its best brains with both local and international experience to the National Assembly especially the senate so that their voice can be heard at the national level.
He stressed that while focusing on his functions in Abuja, he would also be on ground in the zone executing practical programmes and projects in the areas creation of employment, empowerment and attraction of critical infrastructure for the zone.
He emphasised  that he will pursue vigorously his major areas of priority which are youth and women empowerment and employment, welfare support fir the elderly and vulnerable persons adding that he would use his over two decades links and connections internationally to attract investments that would create jobs for the people of the zone.
Barr Ihebuzor who decried the high level of unemployment and joblessness among youths in the zone maintained that scourge has festered because political leaders have not shown enough political will and total commitment to tackling it.
According to him these leaders often carry out empowerment and other life touching programmes only on the pages of newspapers and TV screens, noting that this deceptive style is reason social, economic and even political challenges facing the people keep skyrocketing on daily basis.
He assured his party that if elected in 2019 he would change the ugly narrative by embarking on real, practical empowerment that would encompass skills acquisition training, empowerment tools provision and financial grants to beneficiaries to start their own businesses.
He also identified sports especially football as another powerful tool he would leverage on to create jobs for youths stressing that his own football competitions would be properly affiliated and registered with football authorities locally and internationally so that scouts and agents would be free to come and fish out talents which he would fully sponsor to travel abroad to pursue career in football.
Barr Ihebuzor who was also unhappy about the near total absence of support and care for the elderly in the society added that he had already developed a blueprint which he hopes to implement to bring succor and relief to the aged and elderly in Owerri Zone.
