A Labour Party Chieftain and 2019 House of Assembly contestant for Aboh Mbaise State constituency, Hon. Stephen Nwaneri Aneme has passionately warned the members of the Labour Party especially in Imo state against creation of factions , since Labour Party is one and undivided.
Aneme maintained that the party is now united following the outright nullification of the Abure group and cohorts by the Supreme Court on April 4.
According to him in line with the Supreme Judgement, the Senator Esther Nenadi Usman group was upheld including her working executive as the interim and members of caretaker working committee for Labour party.
The chieftain is of the view that they were in line with the supreme court ruling and decision of the National Executive Committee, NEC, of Labour Party as the only leadership team incharge of the party. He called on all to watch against power mongers to avoid destabilizing the one and undivided Labour Party,LP under the headship of Senator Nenadi Usman as interim chairman and Senator Darlington Nwokocha as interim secretary.
Hon. Aneme made it clear that Labour Party is not factionalized and appealed to Imolites to key into the new leadership to get the gains of Labour Party as being released by NEC meeting of Labour Party held in Abuja on July 18. where the reaffirmation of Senators Nenadi Usman,Darlington Nwokocha led exco was carried out.
He recalled his previous publications on Nigeria Newspoint dated September 13,2024, and October 9,2024 respectively, buttressing his aim that factionalization should be strictly avoided despite being lured by some power mongers of the nullified Abure group.
Speaking, another L.P. stalwart, Rowland Obiyo, said that he was frankly concerned about the success of Labour Party in Imo State and warned all to abhor undue factionalization of the party.
He mentioned that the NLC and TUC were also the stakeholders of Labour Party. Also speaking was comrade Canice Arugbulem who cautioned all to beware and work against implantation of Abure cohorts during the on coming national party congress.
