Umuofor Community, Oguta Holds Town Union Election, As Osimiri Emerges PG

… Outgoing PG  Onwubie congratulates him

The Umuofor Autonomous Community, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, has conducted its town union election with Hon Jonathan Osimiri emerging as the new president general of the community

A release from the town union signed by the incumbent president general of the community, Rev Canon Eugene Onwubie,

indicates that the election which was conducted at Town School Umuofor field, saw Hon Osimiri emerge the new president general of the community by  polling 189 votes to beat his closet rival, Mr. Chigozie Nnabugo who scored 11 votes.

Others also elected  were Mr Ezra Durueke who emerged secretary unopposed,

Mrs. Faith Ezeribe  emerged as woman leader unopposed, while Okey Nwabuine also emerged as youth leader unopposed.

The release further indicates that the election was witnessed and supervised by the incumbent President General, Rev Canon Onwubie who has congratulated the new executive, and promised to convey the outcome of the exercise to the executive chairman of Oguta LGA.
