Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Storms Arondizuogu For Two-Day Working Visit

The Member representing Ideato North/South Federal Constituency and Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, popularly known as “The People’s Messenger,” has commenced a two-day working visit to Arondizuogu, a community he describes as one of his strongest political bases.

The visit, which began Thursday and runs through Friday, is packed with non-stop activities aimed at thanking, celebrating, and praying for the people of Arondizuogu and security forces for their efforts in restoring peace to the area. Arondizuogu has faced significant security challenges in recent months, including deadly attacks that claimed over 26 lives. The lawmaker has been a vocal advocate for improved security strategies and local intelligence collaboration in the region.

Highlights of the Working Visit Include:

– Security Support: Ugochinyere will donate to the Security Support Fund and offer special prayers for security personnel who have worked tirelessly to restore order in the community.

  • Birthday Celebration: The visit coincides with the 35th birthday celebration of Ogugua Mbadiwe, grandson of the great K.O. Mbadiwe of blessed memory and the Action Peoples Party (APP) candidate for the Ideato North State House of Assembly seat.
  • Church Support: The messenger will visit the Anglican Diocese and St. Philip Catholic Church for a special peace thanksgiving mass at 9 am, as well as support local churches for keeping faith alive in the community.
  • Market Empowerment: A market empowerment program will be held to support local traders and boost their businesses.
  • Youth Engagement: A Youth Support Office for the APP will be officially opened to strengthen party structure and engage young people.

The visit has been described as a homecoming for the federal lawmaker, who has maintained strong ties with Arondizuogu despite the recent security challenges. Ugochinyere, who recently merged as the unopposed APP consensus candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election, continues to enjoy massive support in the area.

Community leaders and residents have welcomed the visit, expressing optimism that it will further consolidate the peace gains recorded in recent times and boost economic activities in the area.
