The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Imo State Chapter, has elected its candidates for the ten (10) House of Representatives seats in the State following the primary elections conducted on Sunday, May 17, 2026, across the various LGAs of the State.
Among those who emerged as standard-bearers are former House of Assembly member and House of Representatives candidate, Rt. Hon. Uche Ogbuagu, for Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency; the President of the Igbo Community in Gkoko, Benue State, Chief Samuel Christian Onye, for Okigwe/Onuimo/Isiala Mbano Federal Constituency; Barr. Ikenna Emeruem of Ehime Mbano/Ihitte Uboma/Obowo Federal Constituency; and High Chief Joseph Chukwuma Ikunna for Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta/Oru West Federal Constituency.
The list also includes three women — Iheme Ndidi Olachi Ulumma, Nwadike Peace Adanna, and Princess Oleka-Chinedu — seeking to represent Owerri Federal Constituency, Nkwere/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency, and Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency respectively.
This demonstrates Imo PDP’s profound commitment to adhering to the party’s constitutional 35% affirmative action policy for women in both elective and appointive political positions under the efficient leadership of the State Chairman, Rt. Hon. Austine Nwachukwu.

Chief (Mrs.) Princess Oleka-Chinedu — Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency
Barr. Amby Emeh — Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency
The party expressed confidence in the ability of these men and women to, with its support, give a good account of themselves and secure victories at the polls, given their impeccable character, experience, and proven competence.
Imo PDP, therefore, urged leaders and members of the party who chose them as candidates to rally strongly behind them as the party massively mobilizes support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
