The worse scenario has happened at the disputed land belonging to the people of Mbaishii communities in Ngor Okpala LGA of Imo State as security personnel made up of the Nigerian Police and the military were engaged in a bloody shootout which claimed over seven lives of the officers and got others seriously injured with bullet wounds.
Report had it that on Sunday ,7th September , some of the officers had an altercation with one another over an issue that may not be unconnected with the sharing of some proceeds gotten from their pay master Evangelist Ebuka Obi and his Zion Ministry .
According to a grapevine information from passers by, it was alleged that the Police officer who was involved in the shooting dead of a villager in the area recently whose body is still lying cold in the mortuary undergoing autopsy, grew angry during the argument and begun shooting indiscriminately against other offers and gunned down many of them.
More report further said that in a bid to apprehend him and stop him from further killings more officers lost their lives in the incident until he was overpowered and allegedly shot too.
As at the time of the press, about seven officers were reported dead as 4 officers died instantly at the scene while others died at a hospital at Eziama in Ngor Okpala LGA.
It is important to know that all these are happening few days to the commencement of the four-day crusade of members of Zion Ministry which will take place in this arena come first week of October 2025.
