Uruala Erosion: Ikenga Moves To Save Ozuome From Ecological Disaster.

…To channel erosion run-off to Urashi River, Saving Communities from devastation.

When the people of Urualla cried out over the worsening erosion threatening to cut off Ozuomee from civilization – a crisis ignored by both the LGA and state government over time – Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, the only semblance of government and representation accessible to the people and ofcourse, the federal lawmaker representing Ideato nation, responded without delay.

Accompanied by community leaders, including the President General and traditional rulers, Ikenga inspected the devastating erosion site, caused by the abandonment of a World Bank-assisted project. The erosion had already cut-off all access to farmlands, with fears that entire communities would soon be cut off by the rainy season.

The communities were already frustrated and despondent due to years of government neglect, but Ikenga, touched by their plight, vowed to take immediate action.

Without waiting for full federal or state intervention, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere swung into action; he has commenced the construction of a new drainage system to redirect the floodwaters from the erosion to Urashi River.

He is also working to reopen roads to ensure that farmers and residents could move freely.

Drawing from his success in mobilizing federal attention for the Umuchima gully erosion, he promised to advocate for permanent solutions to erosion plaguing Urualla, Umueshi, Isiekenesi, Obodoukwu, and Isiokpo.

True to his word, Ikenga has also mobilized construction engineers and ecological intervention experts to site to tackle the 1.2km Ugwunano Ozuomee erosion and road project and redress every attendant environmental threat.

Mobilized workers are already on site and working tirelessly to control the situation and prevent further deterioration of the situation.

Community leaders, like Chief Peters Ihionu is proud to harp on Ikenga’s uncommon impact in the Ideato North and South Federal Constituency.

Beyond erosion control, he has:

– Drilled over *25 boreholes*

– Reconstructed *10+ schools*

– Installed *20+ transformers*

– Provided *4,000+ solar lights*

– Secured *scholarships, learning materials, and solar grids for schools*

– Facilitated *jobs in top agencies (FIRS, Customs, CBN)*

– Ranked among *Nigeria’s top 10 lawmakers* in bills, motions, and advocacy

While others remained silent, Ikenga chose action; proving that leadership isn’t about titles, but tangible change.

Ideato has never had it this good; blessed with a representative committed to effectively filling the gaps left by failed governance.
