…Says: Gov. met state in shambles

The Sole Administrator of Oru West and the Chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Imo State Chapter, Hon. Willie TC Okolieogwo, has poured praises on Governor Hope Uzodinma over what he described as his quality performance.
He stated that the Governor had built many roads, quality hospitals, empowered youths through technology, as well as provided free fertilizers to Imo farmers to strengthen farming and food security in the state.
Speaking during a Post Media briefing held at the ALGON Office Owerri on Friday, Okolieogwo expressed gratitude to the electorate for reinstalling Senator Hope Uzodinma as Governor, asserting that the people made the best decision for reinstalling him, describing the Governor as a builder who he revealed met Imo in shambles and sorry condition.
“When the Governor took over, Imo State was in a mess, to an extent that, no Handover Note was written nor given, but the Governor managed the state from the scratch to achieve the present day Imo”, the Oru West SOLAD said.
Okolieogwo opined that the winning by the Governor in the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State during the November 11 gubernatorial election to the Governor’s hardwork and dedication..
He stated that the information about some eligible voters being disenfranchised was not true. “The election was held in all the 27 Local Governments in the state without any problem. The Governor campaigned tirelessly in all the LGAs than the opposition, hence his overwhelming victory”.
The ALGON Chairman charged the Journalists to cement the proximity between the local government Sole Administrators and the people through factual reporting, seeing misinformation as virus that eats up the society, submitting that fake news and blackmails are tools used by the opposition to sabotage the ruling government which is pushing forth to recover Imo state.
“If one does not win election, it is normal to feel bad, so it is not a thing of surprise to hear all sorts of rumours against the ruling government, but I advise that they accept the result and respect the people’s mandate in the interest of the state. Governor Hope Uzodinma is a charismatic leader who loves even his enemies with open arms. One thing about him is that he is always ready to work with anyone who has something positive to offer, no matter the party or political ideology”, the Chairman posited.
He said that money meant for ALGON goes to the Councils Accounts directly, affirming that the Governor does not have business with Local Government allocations which he noted come directly from Federal Government.
Also, Sole Administrator debunked the alleged selling of tractors by some Local Government Administrators.
“The graders given by the previous government were not evenly distributed, some Local Governments were merged to use one or two tractors, they were moved to the back of the former Heroes Square in Owerri. You can go there and see for yourself, they are there”.
