Imo Governorship: APGA candidate Tony Ejiogu vows to restore LGAs’ autonomy  …To tackle poverty, unemploymen

The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for the scheduled November 11 governorship election in Imo State, Hon Tony Ejiogu has assured that his administration if elected, would restore the autonomy of the Local Government system and tackle joblessness and poverty in the state.

Hon Ejiogu who gave the assurance in his acceptance speech after his recent emergence as the candidate of APGA for the 2023 governorship election in Imo, vowed to usher in a new dawn in Imo State where the third level of of government, the local government areas (LGAs) would truly exist and empowered with full financial and operational autonomy.

The Imo APGA gubernatorial candidate described LGAs as the engine of rural development and grassroots empowerment, adding that his administration if elected, would dethrone the culture of corruption and impunity, and enthrone accountability, responsibility and transparency.

Speaking further, the former Senior Special Assistant to ex-Governor Ikedi Ohakim iterated his commitment if elected, to as a matter of urgency, ” tackle joblessness and multidimensional poverty in the state.”

He noted that restoring the fundamentals of governance if given the mandate to govern Imo, would bring back hope and the people would once again repose confidence in government businesses and dealings.

The Imo APGA gubernatorial candidate also harped on the imperative to inject fresh breath of ideas and initiatives that would set and propel the state on a new trajectory of growth, peace and prosperity.
