Obowo Stakeholders: Chike Okafor, Ibeh, Ineh,  Others Pass Confidence Vote On Uzodinma

It was a beehive of activities and monumental outing   Tuesday, at Obowo Local Government Headquarters, Otoko, who is who  in Obowo, including top  leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, passed  a vote of confidence on the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

The expanded executive committee members of the party drawn from the ten political wards, LGA party executives, 21 autonomous communities’ presidents general, political office holders and interest groups  unanimously passed a vote of implicit confidence on the 3R Shared Prosperity Government in Imo State under Senator Uzodinma’s leadership.

Obowo leaders made it clear that the governor has endeared himself to them, won their hearts and admiration given of the wonderful work he has done across the state, especially, his interventions in Obowo Local Government Area where he has executed people oriented projects and appointed several of their sons and daughters into sensitive positions in his government.

 

Obowo leaders further identified areas where the governor has made giant strides to include but not limited to the renovation of the country home of their late sage and first Executive Governor of Imo State, Chief Sam Mbakwe, award of contracts for reconstruction of Owerri/Mbaise/Obowo/Umuahia high way, award of contract for the reconstruction of internal roads within the council area known as Mbakwe road, creation of additional development center, appointment of Obowo indigenes into strategic government positions, among others.

They also described the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma as God-sent, friend and dependable ally of the people of Obowo adding that he has demonstrated much commitment, steadfastness and love for the people and the development of the area.

They pledged to redouble their support and loyalty to the governor and his 3R Shared Prosperity Government as well as ensure that all the candidates of the party, from the presidential, gubernatorial , senatorial , House of Representatives and state assembly candidates were massively delivered  in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

Speaking during the historic gathering, the ranking member representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the  House of Representatives Abuja, Rt. Hon  Okafor who charged the atmosphere and gave direction to the meeting with his opening speech, moved a motion for vote of confidence on  Governor Uzodinma.

He maintained that Obowo never had it so good in the past as according to him, the present 3R Shared Prosperity administration has done so much for the people of the area. He observed that the governor could not have been so magnanimous, caring and done such transformative and impactful projects that have direct bearing on the people if he was not a good friend or someone with special interest in their progress and development.

Okafor added that Obowo people should show their happiness and be appreciative over the good gestures and positive contributions by reassuring the governor of their unflinching loyalty and continued support.

He there and then, moved a motion for implicit confidence on the Governor which was unanimously passed and a resolution adopted in that regard for onward transmission to the Executive Governor of Imo State. Okafor urged the members of the ruling APC  in Obowo to be in high spirit and step up vigorous campaign to win all the elective offices, reminding them that as members of the party in government and power at all levels, they should  dominate the environment and have upper hand than  those in the opposition and reassured them that the resources needed to prosecute a successful election which they are better placed to win will be massively made available to them in that regard.

Lady Ineh in her remark observed that Senator Uzodimma is a magnanimous  and development-driven leader whose transformative impact on Obowo would remain ever green in the people’s memory. The immediate past speaker, Rt. Hon  Ibeh who used the platform to formally inform the people of Obowo of his resignation as the Speaker of the Imo House of Assembly, said his action was  on personal grounds.

He expressed appreciation to the governor and the ruling APC in the state for giving him the opportunity to serve at  such exalted level of  public office, pledging  his continued, undiluted loyalty to the Governor Uzodinma, APC and the  Shared Prosperity Government in Imo . He also reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the ruling APC won all the elective offices come 2023 general elections in Obowo, beginning from the Presidency, National Assembly, Governorship and State Assembly positions.

The leaders and stakeholders were in high spirit as they reaffirmed their commitment to a united and prosperous Obowo where the interest of the people supersedes every  other consideration, even as they resolved to continue to work in concert to support and show absolute loyalty to the Governor and the ruling APC in the State in the overall interest of the development of the area and Imo State at large.

The meeting recorded a large turn out of prominent leaders and Stakeholders which include but not limited to; Rt. Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, Member representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Abuja, Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh, immediate past Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Lady Love Ine, Hon. Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Lady Patience Mbakwe, former Commissioner in Imo State, Chief E.J.K Onyebuchi, elder statesman and former Chairman of Imo State Elders Council, Dr. Raymond Emerenini, former Executive Chairman of Obowo LGA, Hon. Chief Ifeanyichukwu Onwuenyiagba, Former Commissioner for Youths, Sole Administrator of Obowo LGA, Hon. Pius Uwaleme, the APC Chairman for Obowo LGA, Dr. Eli Dibia, Coordinator of Obowo East Development Center, Chief C.Y. Chukwu, the Coordinator of Obowo West Development Center, Hon. Onwunali and others.
