Ezeship Crisis: Group accuses Charvon of foisting brother on Community

Charvon: They’re agents of falsehood

Stakeholders from Eziama Autonomous Community Ikeduru Local Government Area, Imo State, have accused Charles Amadi( Charvon) and his Elder brother Daniel Amadi of creating tension in the Community over the choice of Traditional Ruler even as Charles Amadi denied the allegations described them as agents of falsehood and distraction.

In a Press Conference, Chief Bournaventure Opara on behalf of the Stakeholders hinted that the move by Charles Amadi to impose his brother on the community as its Traditional Ruler has created a lot of problems in the Community as the move according to him,is in total conflict with the Constitution of the community.

He alleged that Charles,in his penchant to foist his brother as his surrogate on the traditional stool presented him to Tony Amadi who has already been removed as T.C.Chairman by the Governor of the State Hope Uzodinma.

“It is no longer news that on 4th day of August 2022, the trio of Charles Amadi , Daniel Amadi and Tony Jude Amadi who incidentally was removed on 21-7-22 as former Interim Chairman of Ikeduru L.G.A. invaded the Headquarters of Ikeduru at Iho , forcibly entered the premises with heavily armed thugs numbering over 30, injured many People and destroyed Government properties” he stated.

Opara maintained that the action is capable of bringing lawlessness to the once peaceful Community and called on the State Government to Wade into the matter and call Charles Amadi and his Group to order  to forestore looming crisis that wants to envelope the community.

The stakeholders wondered why Charles Choosed to act the way he is acting knowing very well that the matter is still in Court and that Prince Anaele Obasi ,son of late Eze Canice Obasi is the Eze -Elect of the Community confirmed by the 8 Villages that made up Eziama Autonomous Community.

Meanwhile, Charles Amadi has reacted to the allegations leveled against describing them as tissues of lies that will not see the light of the day.

Speaking to newsmen, he described the group as his political enemies who are envious of his achievements so far.

Charles maintained that ascendancy to the Ezeship Stool is not in doubt following the new Constitution drafted by eighteen member committee and confirmed as a working document by the late Eze and Village Heads of the community.

According to him, the Constitution favoured his family as Diokpara to be the next Eze and wondered why some group of people wanted to step on it.

He said that he has no interest on the Ezeship Stool and will not use his God given wealth to oppress any body but will only ensure the right thing is done.

Charles further informed that attempt made by Eze Akujuobi to resolve the issue was scuttled by Anaele and his group refusal to round table discussion.

He stated that he has the interest of the community at heart and therefore will not allow lawlessness to persist
