My projects ‘ll begin to be appreciated next 100 years-Rochas

Governor Rochas Okorocha, Wednesday, his threw another of those verbal bombshells that have become hallmark with his declaration that his projects and programmes would begin to be cherished and appreciated in the next 100 years.
Gov. Okorocha, who spoke on the lawn of the Government House Chapel during the launch of the Imo Mass Transit Scheme being packaged by the State Ministry of Work added that he was making the clarification against the backdrop of deluge of criticisms that have been trailing most of his second polices and projects like the urban renewal and tunnels construction in some junctions in Owerri.
Clearing the air on the Urban renewal policy which had led to massive demolition in the State Capital Gov. Okorocha said” the effect of our urban renewal would be felt in 100 years to come. It is not for us, it is for generation unborn, it is for our children, that is why we are not appreciating it.”
According to him if not for the insistence of the Commissioner for works, Mrs Josephine Udoji, he would not have commissioned the mass transit scheme because commissioning is not a policy of his government which spends more time building projects instead of commissioning them.
He said the administration was flagging off the scheme to support tricycle operators in the state to case the transport difficulties Imolites face daily, even as he announced that the fleet would soon be expanded as more buses have been ordered for by government.
Speaking earlier, the Works Commissioner, Mrs Udoji described the launch as a dream come true, pointing out that the idea behind the Scheme is to reduce the difficulties of commuting in Owerri and other parts of the state noting that over 200 jobs would be created when the scheme becomes fully operational.
