…As many run away from Kano for good
Many Igbo Families are said to be running away again in droves from Kano state as a result of a renewed religious war against them.
The Boko Haram Insurgents have again invaded Christian families in the Sabongari suburb of Kano state in Northern Nigeria.
It was gathered that scores of families were again attacked on Friday,March 13,2015 in Sabongari area of Kano state.
Report from the Nigerian Police had confirmed the tragic incident where many homes were attacked and family members butchered to death or seriously wounded Husbands, their wives and children have been macheted to death,while many were seriously wounded.
Sabongari is an area densely populated by Igbos from the South Eastern part of Nigeria.
Correspondent report has it that many lgbo families lost their loved ones to Boko Haram Insurgents on the fateful date.
Again, investigation shows that many Igbo families at the weekend, consequent upon the attack are fleeing the state in their numbers.
The crux of the matter once again is the attempt by Boko Haram Insurgents forcing them to join Islam and leave their Christian religion.
“The fact that they are Christians who refused to join the Muslim is the issue, they have to join Muslim to stay here”,a source informed.
Topical among those Nigerian families whose homes were invaded include:Mrs. Margret Okwu,a widow who lost two of her daughters,Ikpo Ibe , Kalu Ndukwe Kalu,whose only son,Ebenezer and wife were killed by the Boko Haram group.
Others deeply affected are; Onuoha James, Ken Uduma,now a widower,Julius Orji,whose wife,Oluchi who had received matchett cuts on her forehead,died as a result of the wound, Okorie Abam,Uko Abraham and many other families.
It was gathered that many of these families have ran away and left the state for good.
As usual ,it was reported that the Joint Task Force, JTF,a make up of the military,Police and Civil Defence operatives have been drafted to the area while the state government has called for calm assuring all citizens of their safety.
