By Stella NJemanze-Neboh
My late grandfather, King NJemanze Ihenacho acquired those lands in Umuguma after his son was killed by Umuguma people like my dad (HRM,Alexius Anumaku NJemanze, Ozuruigbo IV )told us the story.
In retaliation my late grandfather the warrior King Njemanze Ihenacho Njemanze took his men to war at Umuguma and promised to wipe them out of the face of the earth.
The Elders from Umuguma panicked and came prostrating before my late grandfather to save their community.
My dad said they came with slaves some of who now bear our last name, Njemanze (and have squandered our inheritance, goats, cows, chickens )and a promise to give my late grandfather a portion of their lands as part of the peace agreement. That was the history my late dad , Alexius Anumaku NJemanze told us.
My late grandfather a warrior like all history will indicate accepted their offer and spared the Umuguma community from being destroyed.
My late grandfather , King Njemanze Ihenacho then designated those Umuguma lands as a farmland for his many wives and children.
Over the years after my grandfather’s demise, subsequent Ozuruigbos of Owerre allowed the Njemanzes and Amawom community to use the farmland to cultivate food at no cost.
That Area K land ( as presently designated ) is all that is left for the Njemanze family and Amawom community as a whole.
AREA K 100 PERCENT BELONGS TO THE NJEMANZES.
The claim that former Governor Sam Mbakwe of blessed memories designated that area for judges’s housing is A BOLD FACE LIE. PLEASE PROVE IT!
THE OZURUIGBO OF OWERRE UNDER LATE GOVERNOR SAM MBAKWE WAS MY LATE DAD ,HIS ROYAL MAJESTY ,EZE ALEXIUS ANUMAKU NJEMANZE, ALIAS NA KWA ECHEKI.
ANYONE THAT KNOWS MY LATE DAD WILL TELL YOU STRAIGHT UP THERE WAS NO WAY IN HELL OR HEAVEN THAT MY LATE DAD WILL AGREE TO USING OUR FARMLAND TO BUILD HOUSING QUARTERS FOR JUDGES. THAT CONVERSATION NEVER HAPPENED, PERIOD.
My dear Governor, Uzodinma you must have forgotten the origin of “Ikwueche, na kwa Echeki”.
That was my late father fighting a sitting Imo State Governor for forceful take over of our lands without compensation
So, for anyone to say the late Governor Sam Mbakwe designated OUR ONLY REMAINING FARMLAND FOR RESIDENTIAL HOUSING FOR JUDGES IS A BOLD FACE LIE AND WE THE NJEMANZES DEMAND THE DOCUMENTS TO SUPPORT THAT CLAIM.
GOVERNOR UZODINMA NA LIE!!! IT NEVER HAPPENED.
Owerre Nshi Ise thankfully knows my late dad and will forever remember that he died fighting for their RIGHTS and protecting their LANDS from a government overreach.
No, my Governor we will FIGHT this to the highest court in Nigeria.
YOU WILL BE LEAVING IN TWO YEARS AND THAT FIGHT WILL CONTINUE WAY AFTER YOU ARE GONE ,BECAUSE WE SAY NO.
Remember NEKEDE community jointly fought for encroachment and FORCEFUL over take of their land used as zoo, and they WON.
We will also win this fight by the power of God and our Ancestors.
THANK GOD OUR NIGERIAN JUDICIAL SYSTEM IS STILL INTACT TO PROTECT THE POOR AND VOICELESS FROM FORCEFUL OVERTAKE OF THEIR PROPERTY BY POWERFUL MEN, WOMEN AND THEIR GOVERNMENT.
SO, MY GOVERNOR ON BEHALF OF UMU NJEMANZE ABROAD WE SHALL SEE YOU IN COURT, SOON.
Please ,leave our FARMLAND alone. Our people are currently dying of starvation and hunger.
They need their farmland to start growing food and may be return to the ancient era of our forefathers of farming and being self sufficient. The economy currently does not look very promising and people are just hungry.
There is real hunger in our State and we in Diaspora are tired of sending money every week to feed and keep our relatives alive. Please ,return our farmland back to us. Biko, my Governor am on my knees begging you.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU ALL WANT FROM THE NJEMANZES AND OWERRE NSHI ISE?
You took our Ozuruigbo away from us and now you are planning to take the only thing that will help our people remain on this earth for a little bit longer. Chai ! CHINEKE Mere Anyi Ebere Ohooooo!!!
You can use some of the federal lands owned by the government to build our judges residential housing.
We support that 100 percent because we need our judges, save and well to protect vulnerable citizens from their government sometimes.
We are not Anti judges. We love our judges.
OUR JUDGES ARE CURRENTLY THE ONLY BUFFER BETWEEN OPPRESSION AND INJUSTICE.
SO ,FOR GOD’S SAKE BUILD OUR JUDGES HOUSES BUT JUST NOT OUR FARMLAND.
IMO State does not need this distraction please.
We need to focus on the completion of our Historic Douglas road so Owerre Nshi Ise citizens displace from their ANCESTRAL MARKET, EKE UKWU OWERRE by immigrants and people from out of Owerre can hawk and sell their goods to feed and buy medications to handle old age.
We need to complete the removal of Refuse all over Owerre so citizens can breathe fresh and clean air.
Chidiebere Emeribe, please stop the alleged chasing of TOLL MONEY and do your job.
We have a lot of pressing issues right now some of them, life and death.
We honestly do not need this DRAMA with our ONLY remaining FARMLAND.
I hope my Governor you got 200 percent of Owerre votes in the last election breaking every precinct record in the State plus the fearless and billboard support of a proud Njemanze princess called Stella Anumaku Njemanze- Neboh will help you reconsider and leave our Farmland alone.
Please my Governor , I supported you 300 percent in the last election even when not recognized and appreciated. I still want and pray for your remaining years in office to be the best and successful.
So, help us God.
Again , I rest for now,
I remain as usual your servant
Stella Anumaku Njemanze- Neboh(The People’s Princess).
