Science/Technology Ministry: Uzodinma’s Bus Terminals Will Stop ‘One Chance,’ Check Insecurity In Imo-Elezieanya

The Commissioner for Science, Technology Innovation and Engineering Services, Imo State, Engr Ikenna Elezieanya has disclosed that the administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma remained poised to transforming the state into a leading technological hub in the country.

Engr Elezieanya made the disclosure last week Tuesday, during a media interaction with some Imo-based media practitioners under the aegis of Media for Truth and Development,
who visited him in his office in Owerri.

The commissioner  hinted that Governor Uzodinma has repositioned his ministry making it more vibrant for effective service delivery especially, with the bringing in of the aspect of Engineering Services.

The ex-federal lawmaker informed that the administration of Governor Uzodinma has through his ministry, embarked on the construction of modern bus terminals designed to  ensure safe and organized transportation and to stem the tide of criminal activities like ‘one chance’ operators and others who hide under the cloak of bus drivers to carry out kidnapping and perpetrate various crimes in the Imo.

He hinted that  three of the modern bus terminals were being built at Naze, Assumpta/Onitsha Road, and Egbu Road respectively.

Hon Elezieanya also hinted that plans were the works for the construction of bus shield across the state.
While also commending the governor for his ingenuity which according to him, has seen the transformation of the various sectors of the Imo economy.

He noted that as the Commissioner for Science, Technology Innovation and Engineering Services,
he was aware of the massive boost which the ongoing power/ electricity project being undertaken by the Uzodinma administration would give to the various sectors of Imo State economy, adding that in no distant time, Imo people would experience almost uninterrupted power or electricity courtesy of the unrelenting efforts the governor whom he said, has justified his contacts at the federal level.

Speaking further, Engr Elezieanya doffed his cap for what he described as Governor Uzodinma’s  giant strides in the area of ICT and digital economy through the relevant ministry,  revealing that the Uzodinma administration through his his Science, Technology Innovation and Engineering Services ministry, was already working on plans to establish tech hubs across the state, in line with the core mandate of the ministry that includes identifying people with ideas, and helping to develop them for the benefit of state and society.

The commissioner  thumbed up the quality of roads, and other infrastructure so far built by the Uzodinma administration, and urged the media in Imo to partner the present administration  in its efforts to ensure all- round development of the state.
