…Backs oil/gas companies having offices in state
An illustrious son of Ngwoma Obube, Owerri North LGA, Engr Maxwell Chinedu Ekeocha has extolled the concerted efforts of Governor Hope Uzodinma in shoring up the economy of Imo State.
Engr Ekeocha, has over 23 years experience , spanning across the oil and gas sector with Shell Petroleum Development Company and currently with Renaissance Africa Energy Limited.
Engr Ekeocha while addressing newsmen in Owerri weekend, said:
“I feel gladdened by the directive of the executive governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma in the drive to establish high profile economic
footprints in our dear state by mandating oil companies operating in the state to establish their offices in Imo State.”
He commended the governor for his assurances and providing adequate infrastructure, security, and a peaceful environment that sustains and enhances economic growth for the state.
He equally applauded the governor for inaugurating community security/vigilantes in all the autonomous community in Imo, which he said the governor further supported by mandating every community to open accounts in commercial banks for the lodgement of funds for the payment of salaries of the community security outfits.
Engr Ekeocha praised the governor for the improved interconnectivity of Imo State through the construction of Owerri- Orlu road, Owerri- Okigwe road, as well as the Owerri-Umuahia road also called Owerri- Mbaise-Umuahia road including the installation of state-of-the-art solar lights that have tremendously improved nightlife in Imo State.
He hinted that the construction of these roads has improved the economy of the State through effective and uninterrupted inter-state trade and commerce between Imo and neighboring Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu and Anambra states.
Engr Ekeocha congratulated the governor for the successful launch of his book entitled “A Decade Of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria” under the All Progressives Congress, APC,” which held on Tuesday, September 30, in Owerri, with President Bola Tinubu and many other prominent Nigerians in attendance.
He further commended the governor’s intellectual footprints for posterity through his book, which he said, has enabled him to write his name in gold.
On the N104,000 minimum wage recently approved by Governor Uzodinma for Imo State civil servants, Engr Ekeocha expressed optimism that the salary increase for civil Imo servants would improve workers’ productivity and enthusiasm towards their jobs, improve the welfare of their families and increase their purchasing powers as well as renew their confidence.
