Residents of Homa Bay are in shock after a police officer ended his own life shortly after killing three children — one of them reportedly a relative of his wife.
The officer, described by neighbors as quiet but deeply troubled, left behind a chilling suicide note filled with emotion, regret, and final instructions to his loved ones.
In the note, he begged to be buried in the same grave as the children — without coffins — only wrapped in blankets.
He urged his police boss to make sure he receives full police burial honors, saying he didn’t want people thinking he was “just a common fisherman or mjengo worker.”
The most shocking part of the note was directed at his wife, Awuor. He accused her of cheating on him with a man named Lino and blamed her for the deaths. Still, he gave her his “blessing” to go ahead and marry her secret lover in peace.
In a final twist, he ordered that no food should be cooked or served at their funeral, insisting there was “nothing to celebrate.”
This tragic incident has left many asking: How did it get this bad — and could this have been prevented?
