The General Manager of the Imo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (IMSAA)
Hon Chibuzor Umunnakwe has called on the staff of the Agency to be pro-active and exhibit more commitment towards enhancing the productivity of the Agency in line with government requirement for people oriented policies, programmes and service delivery.
Addressing the staff of the Agency during the official commencement of activities for the New Year, Hon. Chibuzor Umunnakwe commended those who performed exceptionally well and announced special award for them so as to motivate them the more to put in their best. He explained that there would be appreciations of same staff and awards in recognition of their contributions to the productivity of the Agency He also urged them to shun eye-service and indiscipline, but to endeavor to abide by the rules guiding the activities of IMSAA stressing that there was need to key into the governor’s slogan of “Ka Imo Dinma” which called for seriousness and need for positive change.
Hon. Umunnakwe observed that IMSAA was on the right track. He maintained that laxity, trounce and non-chalant attitude to work would not be tolerated as those attitudes would stand in the way of IMSAA which according to him, is on a mission to outdoor advertising environment in the State.
Hon. Chibuzor Umunnakwe hailed the historic election victory of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, describing it as a victory of Imo people and democracy in Nigeria.
Speaking on the occasion the representative of Imo House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Chike Olemgbe said the issue of appraisal was used to appreciate the awards recipients who were hardworking. Rt. Hon. Olemgbe also urged the awards recipients not to relent, but to continue as all eyes are on them to deliver positive results.
While handing over the first award to Mr. Justice Dominic, the Speaker’s representative described the innovation by the IMSAA GM/CEO, Hon. Chibuzor Umunnakwe as the first of its kind in motivating and energizing staff members to deliver result. A total of 10 outstanding staff received awards on the occasion.
Earlier, in his concluding remarks, Hon. Umunnakwe reiterated that the IMSAA was solely established to manage, regulate and control the signage and outdoor advertising environment in Imo State stating that this core mandate include but not limited to regulation and control of signages in business outlets, placement of bill boards and other outdoor sings, brand activations and events, temporary signs, and
mobile advertisement among others.
